COVID-19 Updates

Are any Rec Centers open?

No. In support of the University's response to COVID-19, IM-Rec Sports Rec Centers are CLOSED. All instructional programming and intramural sports remain suspended indefinitely.

When will operations return to normal?

Rec Centers will resume normal operating hours as soon as it is safe to do so, in accordance with the University’s current action plan (Novel Coronavirus page | Status Board). We will continue to monitor the situation and follow recommendations from public health officials. Updates will be given via our websiteemail, app (Apple or Android) and social media (FacebookTwitterInstagram).

Can I still use the outdoor courts and fields?

No. Since we can't maintain the safety, security, oversight and integrity of our outdoor spaces, they remain closed until further notice in compliance with University and state guidance.

How can I get my stuff out of my locker?

Due to safety and health concerns for customers and staff, access to locker contents will be limited and evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Inquiries will be evaluated based upon urgency and unique expressed need. If you have unique circumstances for accessing locker contents, please email and a Facility Manager will make contact accordingly.

What is the best way to check if the Rec Centers are open right now?

Our website will have the most up to date information regarding operations. You can also access this via our app (Apple or Android).

I work at the University and use payroll deduction for IM-Rec Sports fees. Will the University stop deducting those fees from my pay while I am working remotely and IM-Rec facilities are closed?

IM-Rec Sports membership fees will continue to be deducted on schedule. The University will not refund fees for recreation as a result of operational changes due to COVID-19. These fees cover fixed costs of these operations and enable us to continue to pay our employees. We will extend your membership based on the number of days that Rec Centers are unavailable, beginning March 18, for a maximum of two months.

Will I get a refund for my cancelled program?

Yes. You will receive a prorated credit based on the number of sessions completed. Programs that have not started, will be fully credited to your IM-Rec Sports account. Since we do not store credit card information, your money will be a credit on your IM-Rec Sports account. Once we’ve credited your account, we will reach out to you with refund options.
